I was just looking at the dell e1505 and for GPUs they list the ATI x1400 with hypermemory for an extra $99 and the nVidia GeForce Go 7300 for an extra $129. Why is the nvidia more expensive? I thought the x1400 was a better card?

It is the better card and by a fairly significant margin as well. Its just Dell trying to con its customers it seems.

The X1400 is better, its just Dell being stupid.
And as said above, trying to "con" there customers. -
The X1400 is more powerful than the 7300 Go. The 7300 = X1300. X1400>X300. Go with the better card that costs less.

Perhaps it is simply more expensive to get the Nvidia cards - either way, the X1400 is faster.

If desktop parts are any indication (which I admit they may not be) then this is not the case. As even the X1300 seems to be dearer than the desktop 7300.
