I have a mobility x1600 and was wonder what fps you all got on CSS or DoD:S.

On CSS with all high settings, no HDR, 2x AA, and 2x AF I get 50-90 fps.

On DoD:S, with all high settings, no HDR, 2x AA and 2x AF I get 35-75 fps.

I was just wondering if this was normal for my video card.

Edit: I ran the free version of 3dmark05 and got 2950 which is really low compared to all the reviews I've read. What should I do about this?

CSS: 2xAA, 6xAF, with HDR, all maxed settings at 1280 x 800 I get 30-80fps on actual source maps and 40-90 on custom maps. Runs great.

    Dont know about Source.

Low scores? Overclock, I have my X1600 set at 520/415.

What should I do about this? The normal 3dmark05 score is 3800 and I'm getting 2800.

    THe acer 5674 has a 64-bit x1600 (regular is 128-bit) , you have a handicapped version.

So theres nothing you can do other then overclock it.

video memory wouldn't have that big of an impact. Its your memory bus, 64-bit instead of 128-bit that is the problem.

There's nothing you can do about it. (thats why your laptop was cheaper then other x1600 laptops).

I understand that, but the thread I gave the link to is also acer, which as you said has 64 bit. If that's true, then I should at least have a higher 3dmark05 score than those that have the 128mb version with 64-bit.

like link said, your video memory isn't going to have that big of an impact. ie 128mb vs 256 mb when both memory interfaces are 64-bit should not make that much of a difference unless you are going to be running your games at super high resolution (which you're not going to be). all 3dmark05 tests are done at xga res, so that's why you're not seeing a difference in performance between x1600 with 128mb ram vs 256mb ram when both are 64 bit. According to your FPS reports, your gaming performance is great...that's all the matters isn't it?

If what I posted as my fps is great, then I'm fine, I was just worried that something was wrong or broken in my laptop.

Are you sure you have a 256MB dedicated X1600? How was it advertised when you bought the laptop? Your scores are on par with the 128MB versions.

Without filters, hi-def textures or particular effects (bloom, HDR) you won't notice that much the difference between a 64bit bus or a 128bit one, especially if you run games at 1024x768. But if you try to enable AA or AF, or HDR, then you will realize that your bus is simply too narrow to handle them.
