What kind of performance would I get if I got a w3j with the x1600 on games like BF2, FEAR, and also newer games coming out. I bought a NP5760 but its delayed and now im just fearing the size of this notebook and considering going down to the w3j. Would my performance be really good or just decent?

I have heard that you can expect pretty good performance with the W3j. From my understanding, you can run most of the settings on high (excluding HDR effects) and the game will run decently.

I getting a A8jm for it Go 7600 with 512MB and I expect it to run FEAR at max setting at navite res, I dont play BF2 for my internet is very bad (and it ADSL
I think both the X1600 and Go 7600 can play any games avaible now, for the new game, i think they can handle medium setting for new games ( for Crysis i dont know, god know wat is need to play that game)
So, getting a X1600 or 7600 should last you at least 2 year from now with games. That wat i think anyway, base on the system recommend of some game.
Have a nice day -

This link should clear up any questions. And the x1600 runs better than the Go 7600, so you should be fine with the W3J. -
What is the native resolution of the a8jm? if it's WSXGA gl running it at native resolution with the 7600
-
The A8Jm runs WXGA (1280x800).
You'll find that in real world applications the go7600 and X1600 will perform similarly... considering both manufacturers track record for "driver optimisations" (that is, cheating) I take any 3DMark score these days with a grain of salt.
Based on previous experience, I'd give the edge to the X1600 on Direct3D games, and the 7600 for OpenGL. -

Bf2 will run on high settings no problem. I play fear on my Geforce 6800 on my desktop, it's overlcocked to a little faster than the stock 7600 or X1600. It will run fear on max settings, but it averages 25-30FPS. Not too bad, but I prefer 40+, so you can set the resolution down or something. But it does great on any other game. After all thes are the 2 most powerful cards by far found in a 14". The 3rd best would be the X700, but the X1600 beats that by a long shot.

You won't be able to run F.E.A.R. at max res/max settings with a go 7600...well you can, but it's not what I personally consider playable. You are looking at 60 fps in some areas, but as low as 19 in others. I keep my resolution high and just drop some of the other settings a tad (still med-med high) and it's very smooth, only a very brief hitch every once in a while when it quick-saves or loads some textures, etc. My native is 1440x900... if I drop to 1024x768...then I can run all high settings at a good consistant framerate.

I'd always go for a higher resolution first, then tack on settings, but it's personal preference. I make exceptions for certain games, but in the end just experiment and figure out what works.
