whats the difference between this the x1700 and the x1600

from what i hear, it is a little more powerful(?) then the x1600, includes 1080i hdtv dual monitor support(?), uses less power and produces less heat?

if it does use less power and produces less heat, maybe theres a chance that it will be availble on the dell 6400? (i wish)

anyway, what is the diff between x1600 and x1700? what can one expect of it?

Here is some information on the ATI Mobility Radeon X1700:

It is not a significant improvement over the X1600, and the small performance difference is certainly not something that you should let make or break your buying decision.
I highly, highly doubt Dell will offer it in their 15.4" E1505/6400.

Right on the mark. I'll also add that if you want an x1700, you may be waiting a long time for a system with that card.

The Dell e1505/6400 only goes up to the x1400, so the chances of a bump up to the x1700 is virtually nil.

i know the dell doesnt have x1700

i have a 6400, just wondering if its possible in the future as the thermal constraints should be lowered as power consumption is lowered

i'm HOPING that dell will include x1700 in future 6400 though i know chances are slim

i'm also wondering just what is the diff between x1700 and x1600 in general as my brother has a x1600 in his w3j
