One of my friends thought that it was going to be better than the X1900, is that true?

The X1900 was a high-end graphics card if I remember correctly, and if the X2300 is only an upgrade to the X1300, then it will not outperform the X1900.

The X2300 will be mediocre at best, and was a weak marketing step on AMD/ATI's part. The number would indicate that it would be a DX10 part, but it is most definately not. Personally, I'd rather rather spend the money on beer, a 12 pack would keep me satisfied longer than the X2300.

X2300 is weaker than a Geforce 7400 or a Radeon X1400. It's also been out for several months now.
