ATI 9200SE is currently on my desktop. I want to know how my desktop's graphic card compare with the Low-end cards for laptop. Anyone know? Is x300 mobility for laptop better than my current desktop graphic card? I am thinking of selling my 9200SE to a friend who uses sis graphic card and buy a new graphic card for my desktop.

I think that the X300 will be better than the 9200SE, which is a crippled version of the already weak 9200. X300 is almost on par with 9600, and can often be overclocked to become better than 9600. The fact that the 9200SE has double the RAM will not help it overcome the GPU weakness.

I agree with dr_st, but remember the X300 is quite a low end card. What games will you be playing?

This card will be much faster than the X700 you're looking to buy, and it's the same price.

And if the refurbished part doesn't concern you, this is also an excellent choice.

Keep in mind that 256MB on a non-pro X700 results in a slower card than 128MB of an X800GT. A lower memory X800GT will still pound the tar out of the X700.

And yes, the X300 is substantially better than the 9200SE.

Nice deal Pulp. Thanks. I didn't want to check x800 because i though it would be over my price range.

Yes, X300 is almost on par with a 9600. Non-pro. Their specs are exactly the same.
