    x3100 - 8400GS, battery life

    What card will give me the best battery life.
    I assume its the x3100, but i'm not 100% sure...

    any help ?

    The x3100 will give you a slight increase in battery life, but be aware it is totally unacceptable for even light gaming. As with anything there's a trade off - do you value 15-30 minutes (depending on the size of the battery, other system components, etc.) of battery life, or the ability to run even semi-modern games?

    Remember that bigger or extra batteries can be purchased later, but upgrading from an integrated GPU in a laptop is almost always impossible.

    I hear the x3100 is actually quite capable of atleast light gaming.

    yah, it can handle civ 3... so can my SiS Mirage card... so can a ge5200 pci ... 8400GS will do way way better in gaming even if it is just light, it also increased resale value.

    Yes, but the 8400M GS also increases heat. I notice that if I turn off Aero in Vista, my laptop generates less heat than with Aero on.

    However, it plays a lot of games at Medium-High settings well.
