I recently bought a compaq presario b1293tu with Intel 965 GMA Chipset and integrated x3100 graphics. I tried playing warcraft: frozen throne but as i got to the create a game page, the game freezes and shows an error in the igxprd32 display driver stopped working. I tried deleting the maps and getting new ones, this worked, until i play DoTA and the game freezes again about a minute into it with the same error.
    Anybody experience this?

    Thanks for any help!

well the x3100 has some issues with warcraft III, what version of windows are you running it on?
And you should try running it on openGL

then you should try the openGL method that I mention above. U r lucky that your computer doesn't hang up, with a lot of us it stop working completely without BSOD or the message IGxprd32 has stop working. :D

    What he said.

The problem lies with the upgraded drivers. I also thought the 8/27 drivers would bring an end to all those headaches, but I was wrong.

    I use -swtnl, btw.

yeah, or you can try to find the 14.33 version of the driver for x3100 on XP - the latest version that can still run warcraft III fine - any older all has problems.
And what is the -swtnl also? I guess some messing with TnL? - software TnL? :)

That's it! Software transform and lighting.

Oh yeah, let's compare alternatives. Since Intel's latest driver enables OpenGL, did you experience any fps / gameplay improvement? Also, any once-in-a-blue moon crashes or freezes?

-swtnl seems stable as I have been running it without problems. My only gripe would be the dip in performance, since that mode forces the processor to do extra work.

Performance-wise the best thing to do is revert to 14.33 drivers. After that opengl is second best and software tnl is the greatest drop. Not sure as far as stability, but test it out.
