My previous notebook had a 64 mb x700 and it was almost sufficient in terms of performance. That notebook is now broken, and I am looking at a notebook with a go 7400 335 turbocache (I don't know the actual dedicated memory, do you?).

So my question is... will the 7400 outperform the x700?

    Thanks!

probably not. although there are certain games that will NOT run on an x700 (like rainbow six vegas) that will run on the go 7400, the x700 has somewhat more muscle. its probably close though.

just go rock a 7600 or an 8400 gt.

so get an 8400m gt. im positive that will equate your x700 in muscle. probably even could outperform it.

the 7400 is a low end card, while the x700 was a mid-high end card in its generation. the x700 would still perform better than the go 7400.

I have the go 6600 which is slightly less powerful than the x700 and it still outperforms the go 7400.

Well... all I really need it to do is run CS:S decently. Can it do that?

    Yes, at mid level settings.
