Ok heres the story. My associate that gets me all my laptops for cheap has proposed something to me.

I called him and asked him to get me x7800 so that i can upgrade my 6860fx.

He counter proposed by saying that i can sell my 6860fx for 950 to 1000 on ebay.

And that he will then sell me a 7811fx for only 750$. That would leave me with 250, which is enought to buy a cpu and a cooler.

So what do you guys think.

Should i save up and buy the X7800.

Or sell my 6860fx with all my games for 1000 and buy the 7811fx and have enough money left over for a new cpu and a notebook cooler.

    PLEASE HELP ME. IM TRAUMATIZED

Sell that 686ZERO and get yourself a 7811fx HERO, baby! then you can use that extra money u got and subtract 11 off 7811 to get a x7800 or better!!!!

That will not leave you enough money for a cpu let alone a cpu and a cooler.

nope x7800 i can get the hook up for only 180 and the NZXT is 70. so that a total of 250 right there. And since 6860s are going for 1000 on ebay i can achieve this uber deal.

So come on guys should i sell my 6860.

What is the diffrence between 8800m gts and 9800m gts.

If you put and x7800 in the 7811 you won't be able to take advantage of the 1066MHz front side bus... I wouldn't advise it, I say if you're paying for better technology you sure as hell better use it. But that sure is a tempting deal. I wonder about a $750 7811... just kind of scares me.

Your associate probably picked up the refurbished 7811 deal, and if he's selling it for 750, is making some profit off you, but that's understandable.

At any rate, it's a good deal, particularly if you get a 'good' 7811.

I suspect your 6860 may not fetch such a high price though. There will be other ebay sellers who have taken advantage of the 7811 sale and will be selling on ebay.

Oh it's cool. I have known him for a long time and i know him in person.

So BigHops323, should i go for it. And i think the 7811fx should be good enough to max out anything but GTAIV, coupled with a 9800m gts.

Im about to click the sell button on eBay!!!!!!

dtwn: I'm okay with selling it for 900 and having 150 left for myself. All i know is that if i can get 900-1000 dollars should be able to buy the 7811fx and a x7800.

Sounds like you guys are advising it but telling em that the x7800 wont take full advantage of the FSB.
But all i really want is a faster laptop and a new CPU and i dont want to let this opportunity fly by.

    So it a YES THEN!!!!!!

OR are there more voices to be heard!!!!!!!

    Me wANT A 7811

I say go for it, but definitely not the x7800. Get an x9100. The x7800 has a much slower CPU speed, slower FSB, not 1066mhz, and just has a larger nm process, consumes more power, and produces more heat, and the cooling already on the 7811 is horrible, let alone the nzxt cryo helping.

    WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

OK so you say go for it which i will. But man

a X9100, ill have to save up for that lol, 450$ is not just chump change to a high school graduate.

Ill use the 150-200 dollars ill have left over to get a notebook cooler and some other PC gaming goodies.

Thanks for the help guys. Ill put my 6860 up on EBay now.

P.S. How much of a boost will i get from going from my 6860fx to a 7811fx. It should be about 10fps, that's my wildest guess.Im only doing this for Crysis Warhead, Crysis

I would stick with the P8400 in the 7811 for now. It's already a substantial increase over your T5550. Once you save up, then get a X9100 or P9500 or whatever it is that catches your fancy.
