    End Result:
    Undervolted GPU non-gaming voltage: 0.8v
    Undervolted GPU gaming voltage: 0.9v

    Tools Needed:
    -Flash Drive
    - NiBiToR v5.2
    - NvFlash v5.88
    - CSWDPMI
    - Dos System Files
    - HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool

    Steps:

    1. Backup your flash drive for it will be formatted.
    2. Install HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and launch after flash drive backup.
    3. Extract Dos System Files to a location of your choosing.
    4. On the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool select the flash drive, set the file system to fat32, quick format, create a dos startup disk, and navigate to the extracted directory, then click start.
    5. Extract CSWDPMI onto the formatted flash drive.
    6. Extract nvflash to the formatted flash drive.
    7. Restart computer, press F10 for boot menu, select your bootable flash drive and boot into dos.
    8. Save the original bios command: nvflash --save bios.rom
    9. Restart computer, boot into your normal os.
    10. Start NiBiToR after you have extracted it.
    11. File -> Open -> Select the bios.rom file on your flash drive.
    12. Tools -> Voltage Table Editor, change Entry 1: to 0.8V, press okay.
    13. Click the Voltages tab and press okay on the warning. Set the 3D, Thrtl, and 2D entries to 0.8v (Note: This will not affect gaming performance for gaming uses the "Extra:" entry voltage) OPTIONAL: You can change the "Extra" voltage but from personal experience bumping it up to 1.25v only yeilded 10+ mhz core, +30mhz shader speeds at a cost of +10C. Lower it to 0.9v if you want more stable fps with little to no decrease in clocks.
    14. Making sure all voltages are filled in, File -> Save, and save as "biosmod.rom" on your flash drive.
    15. Restart, boot into dos, and update your bios to the modded bios with pci subsystem overrides: nvflash --index=0 -6 biosmod.rom
    16. Answer yes to both warnings, and bios should be updated.
    17. Restart, boot into your normal OS and gpu temperatures should be slightly lower and battery life slightly increased.

    Cheers!

    Thanks

Yes, it takes a longer time for the gpu to reach 49C due to a lower voltage and thus less frequency of the all hated repeating fan.

With ICD7 on my gpu it gets down to 38c/39c then very slowly rises up till 49C now, which takes quite a bit longer now that it has be undervolted and underclocked to 150/199/375 for max battery life

Undervolting my gpu worked for me, I get about 15min's more battery life as estimated by Windows 7 and GPU temps are a bit lower 2/3C.

But Overvolting yielded very little mhz increase with some temperature increase. But definitely not worth running your card @ 1.25v while gaming.

Cant to this with my laptop even thought i did this thing with my desktop card with a fx 5300 and with 8800GTX and i didn't have a single problem

will try later --override=<level> to see if i can get it work

Yes, but do not go as low with the voltages, the 260m GTX may require more voltage than the 9800gts. Experiment, bring it down some, see if your card is still stable, then bring it down some more. Use your common sense.

I UV my 9800M GTS from 1.12v to .9v, all across the boards. I use COD world at war to get my gpu heated up. When playing WaW on 1.12v, I have no issues whatsoever with gameplay. On 1.12v, my GPU gets to 90c, a little to hot for my taste.

When I UV the GPU to .9v, After a couple of seconds of playing the actual game, the game just crashes. no errors at all.

I tried increasing the voltage .05 at a time and the game still kept crashing. The only way it will not crash, is if I use the 1.12v stock settings.

I haven't OC my GPU and running driver version - 186.81

    Any idea whats going on?

    Thanks llynx for the tutorial.

How do I raise the voltage after lowering it?
I think I lowered my voltage too much and my games are unstable. Do I open the origional bios.rom and edit it and save it as a new file?

I try to open it and I get a message saying, "data position/length out of data bounds."

Could anyone explain this to me?

    Thanks

Edit: I removed my thumb drive and put it back in, and the message is gone. I will see if it will work now.
Before this, I couldn't safely remove the thumb drive through the task bar because a program was using it. I just decided to pull it out anyways.

Hi. I undervolted my 9800gts to 1.00V and i tried to set clocks to higher values but i couldn`t. I used nvidia performance utility set the clocks to 1770 shader and run modern warfare 2, but after I quit the game the clocks returned to previous values. What is more when i tried to flash higher clocks i also failed because shader clock could not go over 1750. Does it happen due to voltage?

Go to your Bios settings page and make sure that your USB drive is in the load order before the other hard drives.

Make sure you use a good quality flash drive, if its still not recognising it.
