    Hello All,

I am hoping you can help me out with my Gateway P-7811 FX. I have no idea what I did to my lappy but, any site I go onto that have a .PNG image, all I see is a big red X. I searched google but, wasn't able to find anything that would help me.

Has anybody had this issue? How were you able to fix it?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts...

Sorry, the red X is showing up in IE8 (both the 32bit and 64bit versions): However, I beleive I am not havign the issue in Firefox. I will need to double check Firefox..

You already started a thread exactly like this.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=405106

I replied last in that thread.

Do you have any security errors on the webpage when a .png image doesn't display (Do you see the eyeball with the red circle with a slash through it on the bottom of your Internet Explorer status bar)?

Does it say "Done, but with errors on page." on the left of the status bar every time a .png is displayed as a red x?

Sorry for the double post. I ran advance care system, then glary utilities, then Enhance my vistas free. I have NO CLUE what happened but, I no longer have the red X's. I really wish I knew what fixed it. I would have loved to report back in case this happens to others. Not sure if I can back-tack but, I want to leave well enough alone..

Well, another update. The .png issue is fixed in 64bit IE8 but, not in the 32bit.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr... this is so frustrating..

Have you tried uninstalling IE8 (Rolling back to 7). You can always reinstall after if you want 8 again. Make sure to do a full uninstall, do NOT skip the restart step. Backup favorites if you have some just to be safe (Although they're stored in ur users folder but I dont quite remember if theyll transfer).
