Wassup notebook review. I have a p-6860fx (T9300 dual core processor 2.5ghz w/ 8800m gts) with a fresh installation of windows vista (64 bit, fully updated). I view my youtube windows through Firefox (latest version), and have Flash 10.1. I also have ForceWare 257.21 drivers. Alrite, now if a view any resolution up to 720p, everything is perfect, then at 1080p, the video just lags like crazy, windowed or fullscreen. And even better, when i move a window to look at my files while playing the video, the window just lags along with it. Pretty much anything that moves in windows lags. Now I've never had a good experience with youtube 1080p, but it was better before. Pretty every driver and flash before 10.1 had the same problem, it was fine windowed, but laggy fullscreen. Well, ever since 10.1 it lags everywhere. And the best of all, it takes only about 20% cpu, but looking at gpu-z, it loads the gpu over 60%. The saddest part of all is that the only people to complain about 1080p lag has intel graphics and low end cards
. Has anyone else have this problem. (Note: I tried disabling "Hardware Acceleration but it didnt change a thing)

What are your GPU clocks when playing 1080p video? As far as I know they should be locked at 275, 550, 300 mem when playing video but if they are lower then you have a problem and if they are that you could try overclocking the GPU.
There could be a problem just with 1080p because you are scaling down opposed to scaling up with 720p video.
Turn off Aero to see if that helps.
Edit: Oops those clocks I gave you are for the 9800M GTS. -
If you're running it on a 6860FX, the native resolution is 1440x900. It has no need for 1080p anyway. If you're running an external, it could be tasking it. I highly doubt it though. Or, you have a lot of crapware on your computer.

maybe you could try removing adobe flash and reinstalling it?

I too notice a HUGE lag on high res youtube videos.. Am running the most current drivers..
I will try that abobe flash reinstall. Hope that helps.. -
Had the same problem on my P-7811FX. Never really solved it. Mine was bad even with 480P video. This is the 1920 x 1200 screen btw so no down-scaling. Ironically, dvd's play no problem. Downloaded MPEGs play fine. So I never figured it out. Here's all I can tell you.
Google Chrome was worse, don't use it.
Adobe Flash needs to be as up to date as possible.
Macromedia Shockwave needs to be up to date.
You should let the video play for a few seconds before hitting fullscreen.
Once in fullscreen, try not to move the mouse much or at all.
If none of this works, you're probably screwed. Sorry. I found a blog once (lost my bookmarks) of a bunch of 7811 owners with the same problem and last time I read it nobody had a fix. Good luck.
