    2887 or 2888? how do I tell without the box?

    I had a 7811fx sent from the states but my uncle threw away the box before I could ask him what the serial number was.

    Is there any way I can tell for sure which version I have from the BIOS or appearance etc.

    Two ways, I think your serial number should be on the bottom of the laptop. Alternatively, check your bios, if it says 9c.05.00 then you have the 2887 line, but if it says 9c.08.00 then you have the 2888 line.
