Has anyone here been able to use their X-Box 360 HD-DVD player to watch HD-DVD movies on their laptop? If so, how did you go about doing so? I know that there is a way out there, and it was free. I just don't want to pay a hundred something dollars for the hd codec since it is an obsolete format anyway. Still it would be nice to be able to watch my existing dvd's on my laptop in HD. Maybe I am posting this in the wrong forum but the people in this gateway/emachines forum are all so courteous and smart:wink: Also I have the P-6831-FX if that helps thanks!

Just use CyberLink's PowerDVD HD-DVD Edition and you should be fine. There is even a hack for the latest versions of PowerDVD which officially only support BluRay to enable HD-DVD playback:
