OK...maybe I am showing my ignorance here but here it goes. I downloaded the 3dMark Vantage "free" testing program to determine my Mark score. First thing it told me was that it doesn't support the 1440x900 resolution (it is too low), then it after culling through the "tests" it allowed the GPU/CPU test to be performed only to give me a 2500 score result!!
What the heck am I doing wrong in getting a terrible 3dMark score? the 7-8K scores is really what I am/was hoping for...
Need some recommendations/advice!
Thanks in advance.

The 7-8K range that most people are reporting are obtained using 3Dmark 06, which your computer should get (with your cpu maybe over 8k). Vantage is a newer benchmark released by the same people and the scores from it aren't comparable to 3Dmark 06 because its a different benchmark.

my scores average from 3300 up to 4k in vantage. depending on driver and tweaks. -
