    got an old 6809 with cracked hinges. need to have it fixed by sept for my sister.
    think my brother got it from bestbuy. he was in iraq for 2years where it broke and couldn't get it to bb or emachines for repair. i doubt they still take it

    and a couple of the parts via google but would like to know if there specific skus i should be looking for that don't have the design flaw and any tips on the repair itself

    Contact eMachines. They might still do the hinges. It was a known issue and they're probably grateful it didn't go class action on them.
