I could have sworn there was a thread about this, but what settings are folks using on their laptop? I've been playing with everything (contrast, brightness, gamma, etc) but I just can't find a comfortable and accurate group of settings.

    Thanks,
    b

OK, I don't feel so weird. That's definitely the ballpark I'm playing in. I wish the display was a bit better, but beggars can't be choosers.

So I got bored and started messing with my display settings. Then I remembered that I have a copy of the AVIA home theater setup disc and decided to try it out. Does anyone know if that is a valid path to follow? i.e., Is there a reason that using a calibration disc will not apply for a laptop display? I'm just curious because I did it, and my settings are a little weird :)

    yep! i second this here!!

took mine in to best buy and frys to put it up against the top screens and the only one that really out shined it was the Fujitsu. this was out of about 15 lappy's at each store. and it just about matched the sony, but i have a lg 1920x1200 res screen. not sure if that makes a difference though.

Here's my goofed up settings, but I swear it looks good to my old eyes!

All Channels: Brightness 40, Dig Vib 80, Contrast 50

    Blue Gamma: 60
    Red Gamma: 68
    Green Gamma 70

I wish there was a setting called, "Idiot" and I could use that and it would be perfect! Oh, the many things I obsess over...

    Dumb question...

How do I do the default? Had a couple of beers...

Um...I think I'm confusing the Video & Television settings with the Display settings. I just realized, I used a DVD to calibrate the Display settings. That was an incorrect action...correct?
