Anyone has a setup like this? or anyone using a USB card and have a working
virtual surround support on Vista? I've read somewhere that the Turtle beach works on vista. I'm not just sure if it does work pretty good when doing virtual surround.

I have used a generic USB sound card with CM108 chip on an XPS m1530 before and it worked pretty well using Xear3d. I used the same usb chip When I switched to the 6831FX but unfortunately forgot to copy the installer. I had to download the one from SteelSeries because they apparently use the same chip. The USB card still works but the virtual surround doesn't seem to exist. It sounds the same as the onboard audio of the laptop.

Any inputs on this? I really would love to have virtual surround as this is very important especially on games like Call of Duty 4 and CounterStrike
