Hello all. I just got borderlands and it is really putting a strain on the ol lappy. I upgraded to a T9300 2.5 GHz otherwise it is completely stock (well I did do a clean vista install). I recently cleaned out the dust from the inside and it runs a fairly cool 70-75*C. Whenever I play BL even on all min settings, the game will periodically hang for usually 5 sec but sometimes like 20 sec. The processor is going to town then the game suddenly picks back up. IDK what to do, perhaps it is time to change my drivers (or something else to try)?
-Would this make a big difference?
-If so, which one should I go with?

    Thanks you guys!

go with whatever recntly customized dox drivers, i swear by them, improved my performance, stopped some games lag and shuddering, em maybe try reinstalling the game, and get yourself game booster, and switch your pc into gaming mode, it turns alot of crap off to give your game better performance.

you can also find game tweeks here link

update graphics drivers. make sure you don't have pre-rendered frames above 3.

Just go with the latest stock Nvidia drivers for your laptop, that is pretty strange cause we have the same setup and I run the game at max at about 60fps or more...also install the latest chipset drivers for your mobo/T9300 if you have not yet

Just wanted to update guys. I reinstalled, didn't help. I updated to newest NVidia driver, turned the prerendered frames to 2 (may go back to 3 later) and turned the 3d performance to balanced instead of quality... It runs perfectly!

Thanks so much, everyone is always so helpful on here I appreciate it!

just installed.... this laptop is so great, i prefer it over my 1730 any day. just installed a 1920x1200 display and a t9300. wish the keyboard was a bit quieter and back lit but that's about it

on my second play through on borderlands, maybe i will do all the missions this time???
