Ah yes, thank you very much dtwn83, that was exactly the info I needed. Seems like my IBM PSU cord fits in perfectly, so off to tell my friend to pick it up on his way.. :)

I am chill first of all, posts online are read the way you choose to read them, and I guess you chose to read mine as huffy and puffy (because you were getting that way?). I come on this site arguing with everyone? Maybe you should look at my posts before you make anymore assumptions (something it seems you do way too often). I've argued with you and dtwn at one point over the stupidest thing ever... who else? That's everyone? Oh ok thanks. I make suggestions and statements that have very little merit to them? Like what, have I not backed up what I say? It's a bit hypocritical for you to simply assume what kind of knowledge I have of something, and then when I explain about it, say that there was little merit to what I said (when there actually was anyway). What merit was there to you assuming? If you read my "wall of text" (btw, what would your response be called? ;) ) you would see that there are no insults. Forgive me for being defensive when someone else who doesn't even know me tries to put words in my mouth.

Suddenly this is a discussion of what the "ultimate outcome of their customer service" is? You're trying to change your wording since you know you got called out on something you were wrong about. You're right, I don't know what the ultimate outcome of their service will be, I didn't say I did know. But you had said I have "NO idea what the status is" of their customer service, and you're entirely wrong about that, as you would see if you actually read my "wall of text".

Lastly, I don't care about your experience with Gateway, because I wasn't accusing you of not knowing about it, you were accusing me... remember? I'm not the one trying to act like no one knows about Gateway but me, or that I even know other people. For someone who says ,"But I do try to keep things that I'm not 100% sure about under wraps until I find out more detail," you seem to make hypocritical statements, exaggerations, and assumptions pretty often. I hope this "wall of text" isn't too big for you to read as you sit there in your computer chair... if you think this is bad, you gotta hear about these things called "books" they're like entire BUILDINGS of text man! I know, scary, right!?

LOL. Dood. You're talking in circles and making absolutely no sense. That being said, it's probably best to just let it go and move on. You're obviously incapable of understanding what I'm pointing out and quite frankly, I'm tired of responding to you. Lets move back to the topic at hand.

lol, how can you say I'm incapable of understanding what you're pointing out. I've systematically replied to each point you made, whereas you just admitted you don't understand what I'm saying.... so who's the one that doesn't understand here? It's so easy to just say "sorry you don't make sense" instead of simply admitting you were wrong. It's ok dude, I didn't realize your internet self esteem couldn't take a hit like that (lol).

"sorry you don't make sense, lets just forget about it." rofll righttttttttttttttt

ok, if thats what you want. ;)

LOL. Are you STILL on this? Jesus Christ man, just let it go.

    Moving forward.....
I'm curious, what was it about the m15x build quality that you found lacking? I've never been a big AW fan but have a friend who SWEARS they are the best things since cottage cheese and I tend to disagree.

i completely agree with you dook. AW can kiss my happy @$$. my uncle paid 5500 for one that was nowhere NEAR top of the line at the time he bought it and top of the line systems could have been built for 3-3.5K at the time (late '07)

I mean I understand the need and desire for a boutique brand and I'm certainly not downing anyone on their laptop choices. But by the way some talk, you'd think AWs are made of titanium or something.

Just curious.. Have you ever been arrested? Not necessairly for felony, but just handcuffed and recited your rights. Well, you know how the police tend to cuff your wrists so tight that your fingers go numb? (Even if you've never been arrested I'm sure you've seen the pics and heard the stories) Well, take the quality build of the x305 case and slap some *BB Cuffs(I know, I saw it yesterday) on it.. It will bruise. Or scrape, scratch, break, or possibly shed a tear. If you've never been cuffed, I suggest starting with the "magic escape" cuffs cause you can usually spend the night in a REAL bed with those on.

    * BB Cuffs are the clamps prohibitting theft of laptops. *Usually a bar across the base of the monitor connected to an alarm system in case of removal to prevent theft. In the event of theft you will be handcuffed.

This is very true. Build quality notwithstanding. I have seen some laptops look like Tina Turner after being on display for just two months. The funny thing is they turn around and sell em all beat to hell, with parts missing for almost what a new one costs...and people buy them!

So what's the max RAM the new notebook will support? I know it comes with 4gb in 2 slots... but will it support 4gb DDR3 (if that even exists) sticks?

doubtfull that the mobo or w/e will support it, but i'm not very sure. I know 64bit vista can handle up to 8gb ram.

Overall, I love my new laptop. A big upgrade from my dv6000 with 1.7 ghz Athlon X2 and Nvidia 6150Go. Still cleaning out and setting this baby up.

I'm typing on a dv6000 with 1.6Ghz Core Duo, 1 GB Ram, Nvidia 7400 Go.

I'm expecting to be absolutely awed when I play around with the new 7811 FX when the price lowers to its actual price of of $1400 or lower. I really hope my expectations aren't too high.
