Long story short, the other day I spilled a cup of coffee all over my 6860 fx while it was running. I took it to a local computer place just for an idea of the extent of the damage and he told me it would almost definitely need to be completely replaced. Good thing i bought the Best Buy accidental coverage I guess.
Anyways, I'm wondering if say, I waited until the release of the newer model to report it, they would replace it with that one? What do you guys think?

Hmm, they might, or they might send it back to Gateway to get a 6860FX. If they have any in stock, they would probably just give you the 6860FX instead of the 7811FX.

Hmm yeah I wonder how long it would be until they're completely out of the 6860's and would have to give me the 7811

My guess is that you'll end up with a 6860FX as they still have them in-stock online. Would be nice to get the 7811, tho!

Hey guys first post here, I've been looking on for awhile and decided seeing as I both own a 6860 and work at BB I could have some good input.

Ok just realize that if you do cash in on the 3yr ADH you will have to repurchase it if you want it on your replacement. Also wait a month or so if possible, because if the district is out of 6860's they will give you the new model(or at least my store would).

I would have to repurchase the warranty? Damn that sucks I didnt know that.. I guess this was a more costly mistake than i thought.

I doubt it... If anything, they will try and give you the G50 which is 1249. If thats the case, request the value of the original purchase on a gift card then just get what you want and pay the difference.
