I'm trying to do a factory restore. The main reason is a lot of my programs are missing from the start menu altogether. I can't seem to find the restore option either.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Start -> Programs -> Gateway Recovery Center -> Gateway Recovery Center.
You can also use your Recovery CD if you made one.

Might be in C:\Windows\SMINST\Grc_Vista.exe if you don't have the shortcut on the start menu.

All else fails try this: http://support.gateway.com/s/issues/2-2420737301.shtml

thanks for the info. I found it in the windows dir as you suggested. I am still wondering where all my icons under ALL PROGRAMS went lol. Oh well. I had a bunch of crap installed anyways, and this probably took less time to restore than uninstalling it all lol.

    Thanks. +rep
