No it just has a really sucky mic. The only thing that i have found that fixes it is an external headset with mic.

Other than that i never found a way to get satisfactory preformance out of the horrid mic that the 6860 uses.

I thought so too. the first time i tried to call my wife over the net she would talk and talk and never hear anything from me but silence and noise every so often.

I tried different drivers, edited the sound propertied and everything i could think of but in the end i just had to accept that out mics just suck horribly :(

    At your statement though
Do BT head sets work well? I've never tried them on a PC and i guess my BT is jsut sitting there doing nothing currently and my current headphones are wired. Whats the battery life on them typically?

yea i tried to play with drivers and settings too and without any luck thought i might be doing something wrong so i headed to NBR for help :).

I didn't try it yet with the lappy since my Motorola H500 headset wasn't charged. I forgot the mini usb charging cable but i will try it out tonight and let you know. However my buddy uses Nokia BT headset on his desktop with BT dongle (BT v2.0) and Skype works great and sound quality is excellent. I don't think itll be any different with 6860. Will let u know

oh as far as battery life, it varies, but you can expect at least few hours of talk time, before it dies. H500 claims to have 8hr talk time and 180 standby although i never tested it to those limits.

I also found no luck with the internal mic, but a $5 external one works just fine

just finished charging Motorola H500 and i can confirm that it works great with built in BT. tested in Skype + recorded wave file with windows built in recording program. wish the built in mic was better but hey for one it's better than nothing and two we can still use BT if we want to which provides alot better quality :) now off to get toslink to miniplug adapter so i can connect the laptop to Z680 speaker system.
