Okay, so I need to buy a new thermal pad. The original one ripped a while ago and i put it back on as best I could, but it's been getting worse. It's not too bad, TZS0 is usually about 40-45C, but TZS1 is always 10C higher. I've never had to deal with thermal pads before and I'm not sure if there is any specific size I'll need. I've looked on ebay and was wondering if this would work. LINK

The second problem has to do with what screw #1 goes into (not sure what to call it, see pic). I messed up and it's stripped. I guessing that this might also affect the TZS0/1 temps, but as far as i can tell, it doesn't move down any further after the screws #2-5 (around processor) are tightened. When it first happened the TZS0/1 temps weren't changed. but still, I was wondering if anyone had an idea to some how fix it.

You could try ICD7 in place of your thermal pad, alot of people have said that works due to how thick the paste is and that it "waxes" us once secure. Other than that a copper plate and any old thermal goop would work, or you can just buy a new thermal pad.

As to your stripped coupler... well you could try your hand at a tap and die set, but i'm not sure how well that will work out for you. Thats the only way to get the threads back though.

thanks, i just got a tube/syringe of it from the "Official ICD7 thread" offer today, so i'll try that out tomorrow. Didn't really think there would be any way to fix the coupler, but i thought i'd ask just in case.

I second the ICD7... I did it and dropped a degree or two by replacing the pad...

Replaced the bad thermal pad with some ICD7 and it did help with the temps, it now runs at least 5C cooler, sometimes about 8C. It still didn't fix the 10C difference between TZS0 and TZS1.

Yea that area was always a problem. I know that first-hand, haha. As long as its not running up in the 80s and 90s on a regular basis your good-to-go.
