Just wondering,
But what is everyone scoring with their 6860 on 3dmark06? When I first bought my system, I believe I scored between 7300 and 7400. Recently had to reformat, but I just now scored 7116 with the 177.70 drivers.
Could you guys post your scores and what drivers your using?
-
-
7201 I believe was my last one.
177.76, with the nvac.inf trick posted in a thread. (I believe it's incorporated now)
Used to, when we first bought these systems, we were scoring in the 68XX's, but FreakyFreddy fixed us an nvac.inf file, which boosted our performance. By the looks of your scoring, it's probably incorporated into the drivers now. -
don't worry about the scores. only worry if ingame performance drops.
-
He is just comparing systems. No need to jump in here unless posting a score.
-
With the T5550. Im on 177.66 with the default nvac.inf
-
I cant understand why I'm scoring 3-400 less that what I did a month ago.
It's just a numbers game for me, but I'm pretty anal about it. -
wow, KGann and Chase you guys avatar are almost identical
anyway i wasn't be able to install 3Dmark and it says i'm missing some files every time i try, any ideas? -
Wow Dook, that is one high score.
And I had the avatar first. -
Yea. That was straight after installing the .66 drivers. I closed everything that was running and let 'er rip.
-
Very nice. No OC or anything?
-
Nope. I had it overclocked on the factory drivers, but never bothered to reinstall Performance Tools and overclock after the .66 installation.
-
You put Baby Oil in it, didn't you?
You dirty son of a *****. Baby oil is the solution... thank God I've got some under my mattress... uh... for... cleaning purposes... -
that trick with the nvac.inf, is it only for vista x64?since i'm on vista x86 do i just leave the nvac.inf alone and use that with the have disc method?i did the second one and got a score of 7263

Damnit!! That's TWO personal family secrets that have been exposed in ONE night! You and dtwn are KILLIN my mysteriousness. -
Us P-FX owners are like a bad daytime Soap-Opera... we never shut up!
I flip light switches on with my forehead. -

I pick up all the fat chicks, baby!
But, I save my best for the smokin' babes. Like last year, when I showed up at this girl I used to know from High Schools house. Yeah, she said I was a "no-good, two-timing rat bastard", but I proved her... well... just look at the pic!

You mean you're not...?
Might as well cancel the reservations... -
Not at the moment, but that costume sure is making me question my decision, lemmie tell ya.
-
That costume landed me a black eye, and a restraining order.
Well worth it. -
I can imagine.
-
Anyway, 3DMark scores... yay...
-
With 177.66 and Freddy's modded .inf I posted a 7166. 7700+ is amazing.
-
-
LOL. Nope. Thats just the standard inf supplied with the 2go driver. I thought my score was pretty average among the users here. I didn't realize it was high. The only thing I do that's possibly different from others is I keep my services and startup programs to a bare minimum and make sure everything is closed when I run 3DM.
-
What resolution? I ran mine on my TV to run it at 1280x1024... did you use an external monitor?
-
The default 1280x800 and no external monitor. I think maybe the resolution plays the big difference here. Chase, what rez are you using to run the test? I just left it on default as I figured thats what most people use when comparing.
-
I ran mine at 1280x800 since I am not using an external monitor (Edit: Didn't realize an external monitor would change it to 1280x1024).
And I've cleaned up my start-up processes as well. Most folks with stock hardware/clocks were posting high 6k to low 7k depending on driver set, so your number just seemed well above normal without a processor upgrade or something. Your SM scores are very good.
-
Yes you do. You plug it into an external monitor, and it will run it at 3DMark's default. (1280x1024)
-
-
1440x900 screens cannot run 1280x1024 in 3DMark, so it knocks it down to 1280x800, or occasionally 1280x854.
-
Well, bingo! Said the blind man! That's why mine is higher. Id say at 1280x1024, I'd be right inline with the rest.
-
Makes sense... man Dook, had me worried! Thought you had some Super-T5550!
-
Pretty sure most folks are running in 1280x800, though. Or does the 1280x1024 run better (which would seem opposite world to me).
-
Haha! Yea, I was beginning to think I was speshiful or something!
-
I've upped it even more to a clock of 680/900. Gonna see if it's stable and if cooling will be an issue with my cooler. If so and it's a slight gain, I'll probably back it down to 650/800 or 850. I forgot what my mem was clocked at!
Wish me luck! -
-
Well, I'm on my hp. Highest temp yet is only 64. It's on the freeze one (last test) So i'm about to be posting some new scores. I'm hoping atleast 7600
-
This little rocketfish is doing very well might I add. -

Which is easy to do once the processor is swapped. His, isn't, however. I benched an 8065 when I had the T9300. Which, coincidentally, I canceled, as someone in the newegg RMA dept dropped the ball. I have had nothing but good experiences with newegg up until this point. Im thinking about just picking up the X7800 from a forum user and calling it a day. -
i know its not that hard to top, i was just saying.
as for the x7800....whatever floats your boat. but why not the x9000 instead? -
-
Oh, please dont think I was downing you or trying to rain on your parade, I surely wasnt.I guess it looked that way tho, as things always come out different on forums then we intend.
And about the x7800 instead of the X9000, I can get the X7800 for a really good price and save a couple hundred or so. The performance difference between the x7800 and the x9000 is not such that I would want to spend that much more. -
Doesn't the X7800 run fairly warm? -
