I'm using nTune and raised it to 600/900 from the default 500/800. Temps are fine, is anyone else doing the same? What overclocks are you seeing?

I don't really know if this is a quality overclock or not.

    Second

The HDMI Port, can I get a HDMI -> DVI cable to use my external monitor? I'm 95% sure I can, but just making sure.

    Third

Are the T8300 or 9300 going to come down in price at all!

    :(

    I want one! :p

    Fourth

Is there anyway to keep CPU @ Max speed, because sometimes I'll be installing a program and it won't speed increase; however I do have it set on High Performance in Vista.. and I would expect it to go full throttle but doesn't all the time..

    Thank you!

    yes you can.

I would not recommend you to spent more than 20$ on that cable unless the cable is longer than 3m.

and if you have a HDTV i would say do fot HDMI to HDMI and connect TV with lappy lik i will do next week when my lappy arives from US to Uk

for the overclock, i would say thats right about where most people are with their overclocks. i managed 600/1000 before 3d mark started acting funny.

as for keeping the cpu@max speed, because of the speed stepping technology of the processor, it only throttles up to max speed when it needs to, not all the time. there are programs out there to where you can lock in the full speed of the processor, but i wouldnt recommend doing that.

Thank you guys for the nice answers!

    *Edit*

Played some DoD:S ramped GPU settings to 650/950

    Temps were around 65*c

What is the max temperature limit for the 8800M series? The warning zone that is?

I can't find any info for it, google has let me down. :(

to be on the safer side of the heat spectrum, i would say less than 80C would be good. i havent hit over 69C with mine, even OC'd and benchmarking.

Ok. I think I am hitting my limit though, and the processor is probably now a bottleneck.

still trying to overclock past the 650/950? and why do you think your processor is now bottlenecking your system?

i thing the max gpu temp is 115c

it sounds strange but gpu ate hot

even if you can overclock you wont have stable gpu cause you need to do a vmod to have it stable so its possible but very risku

It can go further I think, just It's the T5550. My FPS increase hasn't been super noticeable. I'll run some benches.

I tried 700/950 and the CS:S stress test crashed.

Seems like 650/950 is my medium stable limit.

well 650 for the core clock is great....you could keep trying by bumping up the memory and shader clocks and see what that gets you.

What does overclocking the memory do exactly? I know 650 core adjust the shader.

I am using nTune. Should I go to RivaTuner?

Also, how do you like your upgraded Proc? :p

im loving it. it doesnt have quite the "snappy" feel that my toshiba x205 had, but im working on correcting that. but other than that, all is well and good here in T9300 land. :D

as for overclocking memory, i would think that it increases how fast the gpu sends and recieves data through the system...dont quote me on that though, as i am nowhere near the overclocking expert. i fiddle around with oc'ing, just to see what i can pull out of the component, but once im done with that i set it right back to stock and keep it there.

I'm interested in trying this, I have not done any overclocking before. What kind of increased in fps do you notice in high end games? Will it make your 3dmark06 score increase? and by how much?
    sorry to be so inquisitive.

I just got mine overclocked to 650mhz core and 966mhz mem. I can go a few points higher before crashing, but Id rather not push it. The temp maxed out at 77C which is getting pretty high. Got 7786 3D Marks in 3dMark06 (up from 7376 stock)with the T5550(The t9300 is having issues and I have to RMA it back to newegg).

It kept crashing. I noticed the top wasnt smooth as it should have been when I put it in, but didnt pay it any mind. I should have. It appears the die may have a physical defect. I had to argue my ASS off with newegg to get them to RMA it. But after speaking with about 600 people within the company, they finally agreed.
