I know there are tons of 8800GTS benchmarks out there but i don't think any of them are made with T8300. so i thought someone's got to do it![]()
Driver's Version: 175.63
No Overclocking
Assassin's Creed
Highest setting possible with 1440*900
DX9
![]()
It actually shows 31
DX10
![]()
i would say around 10 FPS is well worth the dynamic lighting and other improvements DX10 has. both SS are taken in the garden behind your home castle, right out of the back door, so feel free to go there and compare the FPS.
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
Highest setting possible with 1440*900
Mission 1
![]()
Mission 2
![]()
Mission 3
![]()
The whole game is very smooth with no hiccups even though someone might say the FPS is pretty weak. All 3 SS are taken at the beginning of each mission, for your convenience to do the comparing.
Company of Heroes
Highest setting possible with DX10 shader disabled and 4X AA
![]()
Not much to say about this, the 8800GTS chew right through it.
Crysis
All high except Shadow on medium, no AA, 1440*900 with a Shader tweak which adds about 5 FPS while gaming.
DX9 Jungle
![]()
DX10 Jungle
![]()
DX9 Snow
![]()
DX10 Snow
![]()
DX9 Alien
![]()
Dx10 Alien
![]()
A good good looking game, but it think DX10 is still eating out too much FPS. The tweak makes the character models a bit edgy but it's very hard to notice.
Devil May Cry 4
Highest setting possible 1440*900 DX10
![]()
didn't actually play the game.
Race Driver GRID
All Maxed with 4XMCAA

![]()
Pretty smooth and very nice looking, and smoke doesn't lower FPS at all.
Mass Effect
Highest setting possible with grain effect off
![]()
![]()
Shots taken right at the beginning of the game
Medieval 2 Total War
All Maxed 16X AF 8X AA 1440*900
![]()
![]()
The game is still fairly smooth with almost 2500 guys on the screen and highest setting possible. of course you can turn down AF and AA to get a better experience with almost no negative visual effect
World in Conflict
1440*900 Very high

Thanks for these. I'll probably be going to the T8300 instead of the 9300, so this was nice to see.

Are you running the 8800GTS at stock settings or are you overclocking it any?
Also what driver versions are you running? -
driver version and clock settings added, thx

GRID added

Looks good, and yeah DX10 takes alot of FPS from you with the 8800gts.
Have you tried matching the 9800's clock speeds and see what that will do for your machine. Most people havent had a problem with those clocks and it does give you a bit extra (especially in games like crysis where that extra 3-5 FPS makes a world of difference) It would probably make DX10 playable for you -
Nice review! Good job!
-
looks like the French are all over you in ME2
good review -
i'm glad you guys like it.

Somehow it seems like you benches are a bit low. Only reason i say is I have the same setup with the T5550 default processor, newest laptop to go drivers, and am slightliy overclocked 550/900 shader default. I just got Devil May Cry 4 and in DX10 I am well over 60 in all benches but the last one where I am slightly above 50. I get an A and some message like slick *** performance or something. I am scared now as I get my raid drive tomorrow and have to install my OS again am I gonna drop?
I wonder if anybody else has Devil May Cry 4 and confirm if I am crazy ir not? -

Thats why i asked what clocks he was running on the GPU because that can make a HUGE diffrence in games sometimes. -
here's a benchmark from Narsnail, X7800 and stock 8800GTS i believe. and it's in DX9

This SUCKS.
OK I benched the game at work all day one day. Solid A rating maybe looped 10 times. I said OK let me try reducing it and see how I compare and cannot get close to my old benches no matter what. OC or not. I never expected my minor OC to have that huge of a difference. I am SUPER confused now. I am wondering what the heck gave me an A in Devil may Cry. At work I had wi-fi off and no external mouse. I want my A back. If I figure it out I will let you know! Any insights appreciated! -
i just run the benchmark again and it gave me a C...the FPS result is just slightly lower
