Cd drive in gateway fx not detected. It is detected in the bios but not in my computer. I can see it in the bios but when i got to my computer i cannot see it at all or use it in windows. Can someone please provide a solution.

I have already tried the upper and lower filters fix and the filters r not there so that is not the problem.

I REALLY NEED TO FIX THIS AS I AM SElLING MY 6860FX AND THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM IT HAS LEFT>

Try googling this. It sounds like Window's fault.

    Sounds like a driver issue.
I'd try a reinstall if nothing else works.
