Hey everyone.. I have a question about the memory upgrade..I know the current FSB is 667mhz so there for only 667ram is the fastest the computer will read.. well i'm soon gonna be dropping in the T9300 and since its a 800mhz FSB will I be able to upgrade to the 800mhz ram?

I found a website called Screentekinc.com .... is that the proper place to upgrade your lcd from? i'm wanting to put the WUXGA 1920resolution lcd in my 6860 :)

    thankyou :)

no matter the processor you're ram will downclock to 667Mhz due to i believe a bios limitation. and yes you can get an LCD at that site, just found one, it's labeled for the p-6831 but will work in the 6860

okayyy awesome Bighops.. would I still be better off buying a better brand of pc5300 ram?

but I know the desktop would look beautiful at 1920x1200 reso but since the lappy only has a 8800M GTS.. games will probably begin to slow down a good bit at that high resolution..

if you can find a good buy on some 667 ram with better timings i'd go for it but otherwise i'd save my money.

as for the screen i chose not to get the wuxga for the same reason, yeah it'd look cool but i would still be running my games at 1440x900 due to the aging(but still very powerful) 8800m gts

Yeah save money on the RAM. Low latency RAM isn't actually going to give you any better performance (at least not noticeable)

I went and bought low timing RAM and noticed NO extra benefit... i basically get 1 bit of data faster than normal 6860 users... which gets me all of squat for a performance gains :(

So save your money and get something that will actually make a difference
