Hello, so I got a new x9000 processor to upgrade the slow sluggish t5550. I went to take the heat sink and my clumbsy self striped the screw in slot 1. I can not for the life of me get it out. I tried pliers, and other screw drivers. That sucker is in there gooood. I thought about just trying to cut the metal piece in half that screw one is holding down then soddering it back. Does anyone here have any ideas. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

Haha, exact same thing happened to me when i was upgrading my processor. I ended up getting a drill and removing the head. After removing the heat sink there was enough of the shaft remaining for me to remove the screw with pliers. (Don't laugh you dirty people!!)

I wouldn't recommend cutting the heat sink.

Yeah after a day of messing around with it that is what I finally ended up doing. Worked like a charm. Now to figure out how to get this thing overclocked above 3ghz haha!

Nice! I see you have pretty much my exact set up (6860fx, x9000). Your running yours at 3.6? Is it solid or have you done any cooling upgrades?

Only cooling mod I had was icd 7. when I played games the cpu would get close to 80c at 3.6.
