Hi, I recently purchased a Gateway 6862 notebook from bestbuy and am so far extremely satisfied with my purchase. I was considering doing a light overclock of the HD2600 gpu and undervolting the cpu but CPUID HWmonitor does not show my gpu. I'm using version 1.10 and cant seem to get it to show up. Anyone else having this issue or able to provide any advice? Thanks in advance.

    RivaTuner doesn't work...

Try AMD CPU Clock Tool for GPu Overclock, using HWMonitor to monitor temps, and use RMClock to undervolt.

Your stock AMD clocks should be 500/600 (well, around 499/598) and you should be able to push pas 600/725.

    Hi Shark,

GPU pushed to 600/725 will make this ATI operate close to which NVIDIA card and which Other ATI card!?!? e.g. NVIDIA 8600M GT or 7800GTX and ATI HD 2600XT or ...

    Thanks,

    G! :)

i know this is for a gateway laptop but on my Lifebook N6470 with 2600HD DDR3 i have mine o/ced to 700/750 and it never goes over 67c at full load. i have seem the heatstink on this gateway just undervolt the cpu and o/c the gpu. if you get it to 700/750 that is 2600XT's speed's which i belive the
2600XT is a little more powerful then the 8600GT with DDR3 but i am not %100 sure

if you haven't already figured out the answer to your original question, use the 32-bit version of HWMonitor to have your GPU info displayed.

    Hi Gulkor,

Wow ... have you really got the GPU to 700/750 ... if so, heck you are at 2600XT and you are right up there close to "NVIDIA 9600M GT" which currently are going in $1300 - $1800 gaming laptops.

I am sure you guys have seen this before ...

What is your CPU setting with Undervolt!?!? And have you had BSOD at all!?!?

    Thanks,

    G! :)

    Hey folks,

I was wondering how many of Gateway M-6862 have opted to go from Vista 64 to the 32-bit version!?!?

    Thanks,

    G! :)

yeah i have my 2600 at xt's speed's my temp's at load is 64-67c depending on my living room temp. i have played company of hero's for 5 hours and it never reset or anything i also ran furmark for about 8 hours and the highest temp i got from that was 73c but it was stressing it to make sure it could handle the overclock. nobody really answered my qestion about since my temp is only bewteen 64-67c would me card last for like a year or long like this. but most of the time i will just o.c if i play company of hero's. i dont know much about mobile gpu's as i have a desktop i know more about desktop oc's then i do laptop's i dont think my temp is that bad. thats how hot my 9800GTX oced to 800/2000/1200 was with the only fan at 30%. :D

i have not undervolted my cpu at all. it's temp as load playing company of hero's or other game's is core 0 44c core 1 50c i was thinking of adding or figureing how to add copper to the gpu heatstink and putting ac5 on the cpu and gpu.

and i am sorry i hope i am not thread jacking. i am not trying to in anyway

    Hi Ridge,

I am not sure if you have found your answer already ... but ... the HWMonitor 32-bit works. BTW, there is a newer HWM 1.11 version ... try the 1.11 64-bit version 1st and see if it works if not then use the 32-bit version.

Post back if it worked for you.

    G! :)
