im thinking bout buying a 5400rpm 500gig drive WD drive from newegg for my 7811 cuz i torrent alot and i need space, but i dont want to cut down on game performance, so will there be 7200rpm ones out soon? or is 5400 gonna be the top for a while?

Your hard drive has no effect what so ever on gaming. The only thing a 7200RPM drive gives you over a 5400RPM drive is faster loading

Saying that the 500gb 7200RPM drives should be out sometime early next year. And i cant FREAKING WAIT. I love my 640gb of 7200RPM capacity, but i'm upgrading as soon as they are mass available because like you i need the space. I'm only working with about 47 free GB right now so the extra 300ish GB the 500 Gig drives would give me would be nice breathing room :p

Yes, seagate was supposed to have their 7200.4 series out this month with 250gb per platter density which means 500gb drives. Unfortunately as of now that got pushed back until december, although you can find the single platter drives around.

    Go with the
Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Notebook Hard Drive - OEM
    they outperformed the
    7200 rpm 320gb.....

    No they do not.

And a 7200rpm disk will improve your gaming experience slightly due to faster loading textures and sounds in game, not just from loading times.
