I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.

I'm running with the Omega Catalyst 5.7s. I'd installed the original Unreal Tournament and, naturally, maxed out all the IQ settings in the display control panel. And it, of course, played beautifully.

So, just for the heck of it, I booted up Unreal Tournament 2004 with all those settings left intact.

It...uh...played. It played well. It's not silky smooth, but it's definitely playable. I'm not the X600's biggest fan, but I'm impressed.

Just in case you were wondering: 6x Temporal AA, 16x Quality AF, High Quality Textures and Mip-Mapping, VSync (for the Temporal AA, of course). The game was at 1280x800x32 with all in-game settings maxed out.

Between this and the near-constant video rendering I've been doing (renders 32 minutes of heavily-altered video in 45 minutes), I am ceaselessly amazed by the power of this machine.

    It's amazing!

I put Unreal Tournmanet 2004 on mine and runs like a champ. My only beef with this whole laptop is the battery. I don't think I've ever gotten more then 1 1/2 hrs of life. Makes it really bad for plane rides. Anyone try buying another battery?
