I originally owned the 6810 emachine model and after 3 repairs, got to pick a new laptop out. I then picked up a 7510GX. Ran pretty **** good for a month and then started getting flickering on the screen. Later I got artifacts on my screen (video card problem). The artifacts would start right at boot. I would then continuely reboot the system till no artifacts showed up on boot and the computer would run fine (play CS Source and BF2) till I turned it off and on agian. I just sent my laptop out this last weekend for repairs, said to be back the week of christmas. I am going to just keep a log here for everyone to see how the process goes.

Well, www.geeksquad.com says it is on it's way back. This is good considering the holiday season and a possible motherboard replacement because of the artifacts on the screen. (x600 is built on the mother board)

I will update more once I get the laptop.

Ok so it took awhile to send the dang laptop back, but it is finally here. Picked up from the store and turned it on, NO artifacts. Thanks the Lord! Everything seems to be working fine. After 2 day my screen started flickering like I have stated in the past. I have the Omega drivers installed for reference. Well, I turned the powerplay option off and the flickering is gone. I guess that was a big problem with voltage changing and what not. So I have to say that Gateway actually fixed my machine. Much Thanks!

Ask me questions if you want.

    Hey Optendo,
It's cool that they fixed all of your problems. Anyways, you said that when you turned "powerplay" off, the flickering was gone. Do you know if the ATI Radeon 9600 in the previous models has this feature? If so, how do you turn it off? I would like to fix the flickering on my screen too.
    Thanks for any help,

yah I had the old model with the 9600 in it and turning that off didn't work. Actually now that I notice it..there is a flicker on the one I just got repaired. It is ver suttle though, only happens every once in awhile. I just turn the brightness down one level and I am good.
