I just got done running a couple of benchmarks...

    SuperPi:
    1 Million = 39 sec
    2 Million = 1m31sec

    3DMark05:
    1747

All that I did to this laptop was reformat the harddrive and install XP Pro and loaded the Radeon Omega video drivers.

I am pretty happy with the results..what do yall think?

That is a very nice 3DMark05 score. It's even higher than some X700 notebooks gets. This notebook still has unbeatable value!

I actually have yet to see another notebook post a faster score on SuperPi than this one does. I have one of my own and it is absolutely amazing.

That SuperPI score is amazing; then again, I've always been impressed with the Mobile Athlon 64 processor (my 7422GX posted a SuperPI of 1:42). 1:31 seems on par with the Pentium-M 770 or 3.8GHz P4, which is excellent considering the low price of the 7510GX.

If only it weren't for the accursed hinge cracking...

about the hinge cracking, this is only cosmetic right? There is no structural damage to the hinge itself, just the plastic surrounding it, if I understand things right...

It's my understanding that the answer is yes, it's only cosmetic.

Of course, it's also my understanding that the problem is solved in later 74xx series notebooks and onward, so it shouldn't be a problem with the 7510GX.
