I have a new p-7801u and find that the touch pad sensitivity can not be increased enough. I have it 'maxed out' and still, it take 3-4 swipes to get from one side of the screen to the other. Am I missing something in the adjustments, or... is there some kind of tweak or registry setting that can be applied to increase the speed or 'ballistic effect' of this touch pad?

    Thx.

You already moved the mouse sensitivity as high as it goes through control panel? Or did you do it through the touchpad software?

Yeah like Aglobal said, did you go to Control panel - Classic view - Mouse - Pointer Options - Set the Motion to the highest here - Apply - OK?
Takes me one full swipe and a quarter of a swipe to gete from one side of the screen to the other with mine.

I don't see any difference between going through the control panel, or calling up the touchpad app via the task bar/system tray. Yuou end up with the same app on the screen. Is there some other place to access the touchpad config software.

Oh.. and Stink... it's usually dry except when I've been picking my nose. Thanks for asking.

There isn't a difference, you just never stated your clicking the button in the taskbar :p
Theres really no other sensitivity setting that I know of other than that. Don't get why its taking you 4 swipes to get across the screen. you talking about full swipes (Moving your finger from one edge to the other) or just a little bit in the center of the touchpad?

Also @ your comment towards Stink: I wouldn't be to much of a smartypants on here. We're just trying to help you.

Actually, if I swipe from the very edge on one side to the very edge on the other, it take 2 full swipes. I guess I'll just have to get used to it. Thanks for the help.

And regarding Stink... I thought I was just responding in kind with a good natured gest. I guess its all in how you read it.

    Thanks again.

i think it also has to do with how fast you're swiping, on my 6860fx i can get across the screen in one swipe and the sensitivity is at 50%, but i usually just use a mouse.

Hmm yeah thats as high as you can get it really, I know how you feel, I've been using 2000DPI wiht my G5 mouse and when i use the touchpad when mobile it gets annoying :p

Yeah I just took the "Thanks for asking.." as a smart remark like you thought his question was stupid, because if your finger is wet or sweaty it'll cause friction with your finger and the touchpad and slow you down terribly :p

It does and good point. This is called "Enhanced pointer precision" in the options. If you swipe it slow, you aren't going to get very far.
