Hello everyone, I bought a 7801u off of newegg recently and when I got it oced the GPU to the 700/1000/1800 i've seen recommended here. Now, when I go to play games, specifically Crysis and GTA 4, after a couple minutes in, the game freezes and the screen goes black and Vista says that the display driver has failed and recovered. Now I originally thought it could be due to overheating, but when i used HWmonitor, at the time of the crashes, my GPU was only at 67 degrees. This only happens when I have the GPU oced, btw. I am sorry if this is the wrong location for this thread.

1gb gpus do not oc as good as 512mb gpus.
so what you describe is not surprising. moreover, each card may reach different max oc values.

so its up to you to find your sweet spot.

Yes, the NV display driver quits because the overclocks are too high. Most likely the core is too high.

So I say tone it down a bit

    Try 650/950/1750
    Maybe even 675/975/1800 will work
