Hey gang,
Loving my 7805 still. Most often, I use it as a desktop replacement, with external HDMI display, so the laptop is shut when in use. While using it, on occasion the laptop will emit a single beep, not from the plugged-in external speakers, but from some internal speaker.
I cannot figure out what it is trying to tell me. I get no notification on screen about anything. I check temps, and all seems well.
Any ideas what that might be?
Thanks!

Are you using Vista 64 bit or what OS?
I wonder if our Bios has the option to enable/disable beep on error, and/or if it has an Event Log in Bios that would log the errors causing the system to beep.
Pretty sure you can turn off the beep through the OS though.
Have you checked temps and everything to make sure its ok? All devices are installed? Nothing abnormal? -
I use the OS it was pre-installed with, Vista 64-bit.
Hmm, I will check the event log. Yeah, temps ok when I check them after hearing the beep.
Thanks for the reply -

You can try this http://www.vista4beginners.com/Disable-System-Beep
You don't have any errors or problems correct? It just seems to beep for no reason? -
That is correct.
Unfortunately, Beep does not show in my list of non-plug and play devices. I suppose it is not installed. -

Did you unhide the devices?
-
Yes, I did. I followed the instructions you linked. No Beep. Without unhiding, you don't even get to see the Non-PlugnPlay list. -

There could be an option in bios I'm not sure
You might be able to remove it? I have no idea where the little speaker is located maybe someone can hop in and post.
7805 Beep?
