I know in the big picture of the computer world this is a very small problem. It's annoying but the 7805 is working so I have not felt the desperate need to fix this.

Frankly I don't even know where to begin. Should I ask Gateway if it still under warranty, and if Gateway even does repair on a laptop bought from Best Buy. I did not buy the BB extra warranty as some have suggested.

The thought of sending a real good working laptop to Gateway does not appeal to me. Can they really screw it up?

I consider open up the laptop and fix it myself but I have no spare parts. Did anybody ever attempt to fix this or know how to fix it?

I am considering a ATT express card for their mobile network and possibly a Creative Lab sound express card. None of which is essential but nice to have upgrades.

If anybody has any idea on how to fix this please let me now. Greatly appreciated.
