Anyone have any experience with the power jack going "loose"? The jack itself feels solid enough if I gently wiggle around the pin with a toothpick. But once I plug in the power, I have gently wiggle the plug around in the jack to get the power to stay on/charge battery. And then not move at all as the slightest jiggle disconnects the power.

I did find on Skyline replacement power jacks, should that be a clue as to what's in store for my future? :)

    intermittent rather.

Perhaps, But it could also be the power cord itself. The end connection that you plug into the computer might be loose. Might check that out aswell, because if you go to buy this 20 dollar power jack, and go through all the trouble to put it in, and come to find out its the end on the cord, yeah.. lol.. Just a suggestion though.

From the R&I guide stickied on this forum, I just found, to my great delight, the DC board isn't integrated to the mobo:

    And, skyline carries them

    Skyline Engineering: Gateway P-170X P-6825 P-78 Series USB / DC Jack Board 48.4V602.011 48.4I202.011 48.4V602.0SC

Worst case scenario I drop 80 bucks + S&H -- I was really starting to sweat having to fork out 300-400 for a new mobo.

But I'm sticking with ordering a different adapter first, and, if that doesn't work, exchanging it for the DC board.

    Thank again

You should be able to just change the DC power connector for about 10 dollars plus S&H man.. I would give that a shot before you buy the entire set up.
