So i dunno if this is the laptops fault or Vista but im having problems trying to get sound from my headphones (ipod headphones). I wanna listen to Itunes through my headphones but instead of playing it plays music on the speakers. I know the jack isnt faulty because i went to the sound properties and did sound test and i got noise through the headphones.

Did you plug it in the right slot?

download and install the audio driver for the 7801u from gateway's support page.

Yes i plugged it in the right slot lol

i dunno if its a driver issue because i can make itunes work through the headphones by making it default on the sound device tab and making it exclusive while unchecking speakers.
Its alot of hassle though for just headphones. Shouldn't it simply just switch to headphone mode if i plug it in?

Yes, I've plugged in my headphones that came with my ipod before and the sound goes to headphones only(like it should).
