So I just upgraded to the CT10N Blu-Ray player and decided to try a movie with Power DVD 9. The video started flashing and video card driver crashed. I then tried it on WinDVD 9, Windows Media Center (ultimate installed) and even tried to play a regular DVD with the same results. I upgraded to the Docx 185.68 drivers and got the same results.

Sadly I never tried playing movies with the stock player in. I feel this would have been a good thing to do to eliminate thoughts of possible problems with the new drive. This appears to be a video driver issue. Has anyone else seen this? What drivers should I run to play movies well?

If you still have the stock player, I'd suggest you stick it back in for testing.

Like you said, it would eliminate the possibility of a HD issue with the new drive.

Swapped the original DVD drive back in, was having the same issues. I downgraded my drivers to the very old P series ones on the Gateway site, but its surprisingly more stable. It is not however "fixed" I am still seeing the occasional black screen or "display driver failed and recovered" from Vista 64.

I dont know off the top of my head but try different DVD software. Could be a codec, or that the old drivers didnt clean out all the way. Power DVD 8 works for me.

I have tried Windows Media Center, PowerDVD 9 ultra, and WinDVD 9. I'm thinking of buying the GBW-T10N instead of the C10N and see what happens there.
