I got my new 7805u, and redid the OS with 32 bit Vista Ultimate. The Mute, pause, stop and forward/back media controls still work, but the dvd and Music ones do not.

I want to define the music one to open up itunes. It currently does nothing.

    Anything I can do?

use a thing called "hotstart" you can find it on the gateway website...and then you can edit what you want the buttons to do in the registry... i have my music note open winamp and the DvD opens media player classic

the registry tree goes like this
    Computer
    Hkey local machine
    system
    current control set
    control
    mobile pc
    Hot start buttons
(then it shoes buttons 1-5) you can only edit 1-3 the =>,music,Dvd

Thanks guys! Got it working! :D

    Err nvm...it's not working....

for the regedit, do I just edit the C: part to C :programfiles/itunes/itunes.exe ?

    Or what?

    Do I need the quotes?

What about the value up top?

the location is correct, and you do not need quotes. make sure you restart your machine every time you do it, it doesn't take affect until then.

actually, for me it would not work without the quotes...
the buttons you need to edit are only 2 & 3 and i cant remember but for one of my buttons i had to leave the "/MUSIC, /VIDEO"<---one of the two ^^

Does anyone know how to make iTunes respond when it's not the main program of focus? I remember I did it before I reformatted, however, I can't seem to recall how to go about doing it now!

    Thanks! :D
