Not sure what to do here.
I'll just be browsing the internet and such and screen will flicker a couple times then come back and be fine and will get a windows error in the task bar saying the driver stopped responding and had to be restarted.

Edit: I tried the latest drivers from nvidia and had the issue with those. So I downloaded the drivers directly from Gateway and it still seems to have the issue...
Anyone else have this and/or recommend what driver version I should get/use ?

I only had this problem when my temps were too high with a high overclock. I just lowered the overclock and never really had the problem again.

HWmonitor is showing my idle temps at 40c for my GPU which is when this is happening.

This is much harder to diagnose as you just got the machine and have no real history with it. did the previous owner have the same issue or did you get it as a refurb?

previous owner was my brother and he never had the issue.
I got it the other day from him. I did a fresh install of Win7 Ult 64bit.

Installed drivers from nvidia's site before I could restart though I walked away for a bit as something was still downloading and when I came back the screen saver had tried to start and caused a BSOD...
So I was thinking that might have been an issue since it didn't get to do a full/real restart after the video drivers installed.

So I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the ones from gateways website. Still having issue since then.

Edit: Also a note this still have the recovery partition on it. How do I start that if I don't have the gateway recovery program installed?

I think Gateway still has the recovery program. You should be able to install it and burn the recovery disks...........

Try this solution that I came up with a while ago. Worked for me and for several others :)

Let me know how it goes for you.
