It is not unusual for a manufacturer to have different, in this case 320 G, HD in a given model.
I have a WD, but some report a Hitachi, and there may be more.
I'd say - see what you have and then match it up. -

the hdd in mine was a western digital black 7200rpm 16mb cache hdd. if i was you i would buy it first then get another hdd after. they sell the western digital black at best buy as well. raid performance is really a big jump from a single drive. i didnt think it would make that much of a difference but it does
.
i currently am running raid 0 on windows 7 x64 ultimate and it runs really really fast -

The 7805u is still a great laptop. I don't know if you've seen the other thread on this forum regarding how to make sure you get the higher res screen...but to summarize....on the white sticker on the side of the box is a long number that will start with something along the lines of LKXXXX. In the middle of that number is either a "138" or "139". If it's "138", then it's the high res screen. If it's "139", then it has the 1400 by 900 screen.
Happy hunting. Great laptop. Still recommended. -
I'm doing a Raid0 with WD and Hitachi, runs smooth for me
