So I have the latest beta drivers from Nvidea... ugh, games run fine, but when in windows I get this lag whenever I'm scrolling in web browsers, etc. I don't know why, but it's annoying! I hear it's the video driver doing it.

What video driver should I install to get rid of this? Anything else I should do?

Again, 7805u with the 9800m GTS and 2.26 dual core.

    Thanks.

After getting into so many issues with GPU driver, I just stick with the one from the Gateway sitem, and after letting Vista decide if there is any update.

    cheers ...

I like using the latest WHQL's (you'll have to download it as well as the modded from laptopvideo2go.com).

Currently on 182.06, no issues whatsoever. Ah, I just noticed the newest ones are 182.50. For cryin' out loud, wish I knew about them last night when I was re-installing Vista.

178.28 beta from nvidia is stable than the .48 one in my opinion, and you can overclock on that one also. I dont knoe man, lag while web browsing? Not in games? Heck the stock one out of the box drivers works so well.

It happened on my old HP with a 8400m GS and the same thing happens on my 7811. I used a friends vaio with intel x3100 and it was fine. I've tried every driver version made, I swear. Some drivers are better than others though but it never completely goes away. I'm still waiting for the miracle driver to fix this but I'm not holding my breath. It is annoying.

Try disableing Nvidia PowerMizer. That solved the lag problem for me. It seemed that when the powermizer kept switching (throttling) the clock speed of the GPU I would constantly experience hesitation in scrolling etc...

Read this thread, it may solve your problem...
