Can anyone link me to the version of vista that is stock on the 7805. I never made a backup disk because I figured I would never go back to Vista when I tried XP, but i didnt like not having a couple of features. When I got a version of Vista Home Premium SP1 that I thought would work with the KEY on the bottom of my laptop, it sadly didnt work so I had to use the one my brother use to use. However he wants to use his Vista now and I don't want to have another vista mishap. Thanks!

The one on the bottom of your laptop will work you just have to call and activate it over the phone, a pain yes I know, but in the end you get a non branded version of vista, and no junk software. I had made a back up of my OS using the gateway software and then i had installed from that DVD and it put it back to bone stock ie when I 1st got my laptop and had to go through and input name and etc etc then it installed all the stock drivers. so I ended up installing a non branded retail oem version and then called and activated the key on the bottom. The phone call takes like 5mins just speak clearly or else the automated voice will keep asking you to repeat. also in case you don't have a link to the drivers then here you go http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?param=p-78&st=kw I know I kinda rambled on but i hope that helps.
