Hello to everyone, I just installed Windows 7 on my notebook, and went to gateway.com to search for drivers and all that i founded its very old from 2009, so I was wondering if someone knows about a newer version of the drivers for the notebook?
also, I am not sure which drivers should I Install? all the drivers displayed on the web? because for example there are two diferent drivers for the sound card, one is realtek and the other conexant... and i had the idea that the audio stuff of the notebook was from nvidia chipset...

and also in the desktop computers its very normal to install some motherboard/chipset drivers, its different on the notebooks? because I didnt found anything related to motherboard drivers for the 7805u...

    thanx to all

First I would download and install the Nvidia driver.
I just installed the 285.79 Driver in my 7805u - It was easy and worked.

I think Win 7 installs generic sound drivers. At least that happened to me when I just installed Win 7 on a new disk and the sound worked OK.

You will need to install the webcam driver from Gateway. Old driver is OK or download the YAWcam program/driver for added features.

    Don't touch motherboard drivers.

Hi, Thank you for answering, I also have the sound working because windows did the instalation by itself, but i dont think that in that way the pc would get the max performance, and the same with all of the rest of the drivers...

Don't worry, everything will be OK. I do lots of multitasking and video editing and I have no problems.

If you are REALLY concerned about your sound quality then buy an external usb sound device.

And remember..."If it isn't broke then don't fix it"!
