I know XP so much better than Vista... and I've tried to learn Vista... I just don't approve of it. It just seems to hog all my resources and screw things up. I love the control-alt-delete feature in Vista more... but XP is just overall more fluent. I'm a gamer. Will I be able to use my webcam and play games just as well if I install XP on my 7805u?

I rate myself pretty high on the computer knowledge scale. I just can't figure out Vista... it seems like it's not designed for gamers, or people who care about performance. It seems it's designed for the average user.

Is there a guide for drivers, etc, for XP?

Vista, like Mac OSx, is supposed to make the computer more of a device than the old XP and previous Windows OS's. As you move to DeskTop eye candy increased ease of access functionality you then also use system resources.

Since the advent of high end gaming consoles M$ has little, if any, interest in gaming PC's and OS support. The real money lies in making the system an appliance needed in every household. Even to the point of multiple appliances such as home servers for multi-media, appliance management, mobile devices , workstation, etc etc etc......

I've learned to live with Vista--

Here are some tweaks for those CPU hogs--

This may be easier than trying to find the drivers for XP--

I have ZERO issue with gaming (CoD4, WoW ...), or whatever with Vista. Even on video IM at the same time.

Agreeing with above posters. By the time you find related XP drivers for this comp, might as well start learning more about Vista.

    cheers ...

You can use the 7811FX guide if you really want to install XP, and I and some others have posted several threads specific to running XP on the 7805u, it works with a few minor issues.
